Cookies & Data Use
Draft wording. This will be finalised when booking, accounts and analytics are switched on.
This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on lutonconnecttaxis.com, and how you can control them.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in the same way. We use the word “cookies” for all of them.
How we use them
We keep cookies to a minimum. They fall into two groups:
- Essential – needed for the site to work and to remember your cookie choice. These are always on. They also cover security, such as spam protection, and – only if you sign in to your account – keeping you signed in (three small cookies named lct_id, lct_rt and lct_in, removed when you sign out or after 30 days). A small preference cookie named lct_lang remembers the language you choose (kept for 12 months, and only set when you pick a language from the language menu).
- Analytics – help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. These stay off unless you accept them.
Your choices
When you first visit, you can accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or choose which to allow. You can change your mind at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may stop working if you do.
Services that may set cookies
When these features are switched on, the companies behind them may set their own cookies. Their own policies apply to that data:
- Google Maps – address suggestions and distance calculation in the booking form
- Google reCAPTCHA – protects our forms from spam
- Google Analytics – only if you accept analytics cookies
- Firebase – customer sign-in and booking history
How long your choice is kept
We remember your cookie choice for 12 months, then ask you again.
